Conner Abbott made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched six innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. He is becoming a predictor of Halifax County's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 3-13 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, Garison Colwell was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five runs, and three RBI. Halifax County is 3-1 when Colwell posts three or more RBI, but 3-13 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Thomasson, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

George Washington's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Halifax County hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .334.
