The Tulelake Honkers pushed their score all the way to 62 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 70-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hayfork. Tulelake has not had much luck with Hayfork recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Several Honkers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Anthony Loza, who scored 21 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Loza has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Leo Leon, who scored 21 points.
Tulelake's loss dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Hayfork, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.
Tulelake will head out on the road to challenge Dunsmuir at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Dunsmuir has now lost 11 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 1. As for Hayfork, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Happy Camp at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
