Holyoke is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Saturday. After each having a week off, they and the Wray Eagles will shake off the rust and duke it out at 1:00 p.m. Holyoke will be strutting in after a win while Wray will be coming in after a defeat.
Holyoke took a loss when they played away from home back in September, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed two weeks ago. They blew past Peyton, posting a 49-14 victory. The Dragons' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Elbin Padilla produced another solid performance picking up 75 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.
Holyoke didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Peyton to a completion percentage of just 38.5%. The team can thank Jacob Quintana for the heroic effort on defense: he. Holyoke wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 60.9%.

Holyoke didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Colby Weber and Gustavo Goytia. Weber has been hot recently, having also posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last three times he's played.
Meanwhile, Wray played a tough game two weeks ago in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Brush, falling 36-14. The contest was a 14-14 toss-up at halftime, but the Eagles couldn't quite close it out.
Holyoke will have to keep a close watch on Aaron Tena and Wyatt Fonte, a pair of players who had a big impact on Wray's prior game. Tena gained 121 total yards and two touchdowns, while Fonte threw for 130 yards and one touchdown on only 11 passes.
This is the second loss in a row for Wray and nudges their season record down to 2-2. As for Holyoke, the win also got them back to even at 2-2.
Holyoke took a serious blow against Wray in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, falling 49-7. Thankfully for the Dragons, Casey Midcap (who rushed for 74 yards and a pair of scores on only six carries, and also threw for 106 yards and three TDs while completing 80% of his passes) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
