Basketball Recap: Loyola Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins at Home

After flying high against Erie-Mason last Saturday, Loyola came back down to earth. The Loyola Bull Dogs took a 52-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the River Rouge Panthers on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Bull Dogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 223rd, while the Panthers are ranked 84th).

Loyola's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-9. As for River Rouge, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Loyola will host Gabriel Richard at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Loyola is facing Gabriel Richard at the right time seeing as Gabriel Richard is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for River Rouge, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the River Rouge Panthers duke it out with the Dakota Cougars at 5:15 p.m. on Saturday.
