Kaycee faced HEM in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Kaycee took a 43-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of HEM. Kaycee's loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
No one put up better numbers for HEM than junior Shane Mcgraw, who brought his A game into the match. He rushed for 233 yards and 2 touchdowns. In fact, with 12 tackles Mcgraw was a force on both sides of the ball. Junior Conor Mcgraw was in the mix, too, providing HEM with three touchdowns.
The defeat dropped Kaycee's record to 5-4. HEM added further sheen to their flawless record, now 7-0.
Both teams are staying within the conference for their upcoming matches. Kaycee will be staying on the road next week, facing off against NSI Academy. HEM will stay at home against Guernsey-Sunrise at 3:00 PM. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a win streak alive as HEM skips in on seven wins and Guernsey-Sunrise on four.
