Meanwhile, Holly Springs lost to Apex Friendship on the road by a 65-47 margin on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Golden Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 323rd, while the Patriots are ranked 56th).
Green Hope will have to contain Amy Lissow as she made an impact in Holly Springs' last game. She posted 15 points in addition to six rebounds and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Lydia Thomas, who scored eight points.
Green Hope has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.8 points per game. As for Holly Springs, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Green Hope has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 36.7 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Holly Springs struggles in that department as they've been averaging 23.9 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Green Hope strolled past Holly Springs in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 by a score of 46-28. Does Green Hope have another victory up their sleeve, or will Holly Springs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
