Basketball Game Preview: Victory Christian Center Kings vs. East Mecklenburg Eagles

The Victory Christian Center Kings will take on the East Mecklenburg Eagles in a tournament on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Victory Christian Center is headed out in good spirits considering the team just ended their winless streak on the road against Lake Norman Christian on Friday. Victory Christian Center blew past Lake Norman Christian 76-49. The Kings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 20 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Victory Christian Center to victory, but perhaps none more so than Justyn Whitfield, who went 9 of 14 on his way to 20 points along with six assists and three steals. Whitfield's evening made it ten games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Abubakar Cham, who went 9 for 11 on his way to 18 points and eight rebounds.

Meanwhile, East Mecklenburg had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. Everything went their way against the Wildcats as they made off with a 70-45 victory. That's two games straight that the Eagles have won by exactly 25 points.

Victory Christian Center has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 7-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.0 points per game. As for East Mecklenburg, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-2.
