After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Akron, Haxtun was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They blew past the Wiggins Tigers 11-1. Considering the Fightin' Bulldogs have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Madden Larsen was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Grant Statz, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Haxtun kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wiggins only managed one hit.
Haxtun is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. As for Wiggins, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-8.
Looking ahead, Haxtun is taking a road trip to square off against Brush at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Wiggins, they will challenge Wray at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Tigers are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
