The Freedom Prep Academy Eagles fought the good fight in their overtime match against the Bluff City Gray Wolves on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Gray Wolves by a score of 43-41. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Freedom Prep Academy has suffered yet this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bluff City to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jamesha Stout, who scored 11 points along with seven assists and seven steals. Stout hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Lakeva Applewhite was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Freedom Prep Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Bluff City, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Freedom Prep Academy will challenge Sheffield at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Sheffield comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Bluff City, they will head out on the road to face off against Mitchell at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
