The Newcomb Skyhawks's game last Thursday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They put the hurt on Crownpoint with a sharp 58-38 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Newcomb has posted against Crownpoint since January 4, 2019.
Newcomb's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Roydell Edison led the charge by scoring ten points along with five rebounds and five steals. Edison hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Adriano Washburn, who scored 11 points along with four steals.
Newcomb has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Crownpoint, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.
