Hampton Prep will head out on the road to face off against North Hills Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hampton Prep is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 89-38, which was the final score in Hampton Prep's tilt against Oak Cliff Faith Family Academy on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Hampton Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 999th, while Oak Cliff Faith Family Academy is ranked 62nd).
Meanwhile, North Hills Prep earned a 53-44 victory over Summit International Prep on Tuesday. The victory was just what North Hills Prep needed coming off of a 104-51 loss in their prior matchup.
North Hills Prep's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Grant Jackson led the charge by scoring 19 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Jackson has scored at least a third of North Hills Prep's points. Another player making a difference was Ajali Ammah, who scored 16 points.
Hampton Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for North Hills Prep, their win bumped their record up to 11-7.
Everything went Hampton Prep's way against North Hills Prep in their previous meeting back in January as Hampton Prep made off with a 59-33 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hampton Prep since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
