Basketball Recap: Crofton Takes a Loss

On Monday, Crofton didn't have quite enough to beat the Huntingtown Hurricanes and fell 66-63. Even though they lost, Crofton's still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 50.1 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Despite the loss, Crofton still got an impressive performance from Will Frost, who went 6 of 10 from beyond the arc on his way to 28 points and five boards. That's the most points Frost has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Miles Denton, who went 6 for 12 en route to 15 points.

Even though they lost, Crofton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in three consecutive matches.

Huntingtown's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Eli Washington led the charge by going 5 of 6 on his way to 13 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Washington continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Brooks Behney also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Crofton's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Huntingtown, they pushed their record up to 6-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Crofton has already played their next contest, a 60-57 defeat against North County on the 14th. As for Huntingtown, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 68-56 victory against Thomas Stone on the 15th.
