Brielle Saddler continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 17 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals. Those eight rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Francl, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and three blocks.
Heartland Lutheran's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-5. As for Axtell, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
Heartland Lutheran will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Dundy County-Stratton at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Dundy County-Stratton is ranked 253rd, while Heartland Lutheran is ranked 238th). As for Axtell, they will play host again and welcome Chambers/Wheeler Central, where tip off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Chambers/Wheeler Central is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.
