North Schuylkill is 9-1 against Tamaqua since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Spartans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Blue Raiders at 4:30 p.m. North Schuylkill is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.

Last Thursday, North Schuylkill didn't have quite enough to beat Pine Grove and fell 4-3. The Spartans haven't had much luck with the Cardinals recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Chase Slotcavage spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Hunter Rogers made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Landen Smith also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Tamaqua put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let Lehighton get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory.

Tamaqua's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Cooper Ansbach, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Tamaqua pushed their record up to 8-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games. As for North Schuylkill, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

North Schuylkill was able to grind out a solid victory over Tamaqua when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 8-5. Do the Spartans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blue Raiders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
