The Newtown Nighthawks scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They walked away with a 71-63 victory over New Milford. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Newtown as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
When it comes to explaining why New Milford lost, one person who can't be blamed is Armani Checo. Despite the final result, he scored 28 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Checo has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Esposito, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
The victory got Newtown back to even at 6-6. As for New Milford, they dropped their record down to 2-9 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Newtown will look to defend their home court on Friday against Stratford at 7:00 p.m. New Milford on the road again on Friday and play against Masuk at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th.
