Hendrickson hasn't had much luck against A&M Consolidated recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Hawks will take on the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Hendrickson has given up an average of 28.9 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Hendrickson came up short against Anderson on Friday, falling 45-24. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 347th, while the Trojans are ranked 88th).
Although Hendrickson took the loss, they still got scores from Paul Crayton and Carnell Spicer.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask A&M Consolidated). They blew past Lehman 62-0 on Thursday. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Tigers just coasted through the last quarter.
While passing duties were split, you can't argue with the impact Holt Goodwin and Amarian Moore both made on the contest. Goodwin rushed for 100 yards and one touchdown while Moore threw for 138 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 80% of his passes. Those 138 passing yards gave Moore a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Braylen Dickson, who picked up 83 receiving yards and two scores.
A&M Consolidated didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Lehman to a completion percentage of just 33.3%. That defensive display was nothing new: the Tigers have limited their opponent to a lower and lower completion percentage in three consecutive games.
Special teams played a big role in the game for A&M Consolidated, adding 14 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Kayden Steptoe, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
A&M Consolidated is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 47.0 points over those games. As for Hendrickson, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
Hendrickson was dealt a bruising 55-14 loss at the hands of A&M Consolidated when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Hawks, Will Hargett (who threw for 193 yards and a pair of TDs on only 18 passes, and also rushed for 53 yards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
