Westerly saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ella Keegan, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Keegan is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Maddie Mankoff was another, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one double.
Barrington came out on top against Scituate on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run seventh inning. The Eagles walked away with a 9-6 win over the Spartans. While the Eagles didn't have the best season last year (they finished 3-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Kendall Fisher (2025) was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. Fisher (2025) was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Grace Fontaine, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Ruby Ciummo (2025), who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Barrington kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Scituate only managed nine hits.
Barrington has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. As for Westerly, they now have a losing record of 5-6.
Everything went Westerly's way against Barrington in their previous meeting two weeks ago, as Westerly made off with a 15-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
