The Olathe Northwest Ravens were the 48-36 winner over the Olathe South Falcons when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Olathe Northwest fell 71-60 to the Falcons on Friday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (58), Olathe Northwest still had to take the loss.
Several Ravens players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Gavin Popik, who scored 15 points along with five steals. Popik has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. Caden Campbell was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with five assists and two steals.
Olathe Northwest's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Olathe South, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-3-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Olathe Northwest will take on the Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Kansas (Mill Valley is ranked 32nd, while the Ravens are ranked 39th). As for Olathe South, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Firebirds on Tuesday. Lawrence Free State is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
