While losing is never fun, West Springfield can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 291st, while Pittsfield is ranked 84th).
Leading Pittsfield to victory were Malachi Perry and Makai Shepardson. Perry scored 18 points, while Shepardson scored 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Da'Sean Brown, who scored 11 points.
West Springfield's loss was their ninth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-11. As for Pittsfield, their win bumped their record up to 7-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Springfield will take on Taconic at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Taconic will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for Pittsfield, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Minnechaug Regional at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
