Baseball Recap: Lincoln Park Academy Triumphs

Lincoln Park Academy never let their opponents score on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Westwood Panthers 2-0. That's more bragging rights for the Greyhounds, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The result came thanks to Aiden Shaw's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up 15 Ks. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Lincoln Park Academy is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 0-9 otherwise.

At the plate, Lincoln Park Academy let Aiden Perkins and Patrick Johnson run wild. Perkins scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3, while Johnson scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Perkins is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.

Lincoln Park Academy moved to 2-10 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Westwood, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-11.

Lincoln Park Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 5-4 win against Port St. Lucie on the 28th. Westwood has also already played their next game (against Central), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
