There's no place like home for the Morro Bay Pirates, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They secured a 52-48 W over Orcutt Academy on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Morro Bay also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Morro Bay's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lucas Cords, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cords has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jake Falat, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
The win got Morro Bay back to even at 13-13. As for Orcutt Academy, they are on a 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-16.
Morro Bay will head out on the road to face off against Paso Robles at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Orcutt Academy, they will be playing at home against Cabrillo at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Cabrillo will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Orcutt Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
