The West Grand Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their ninth straight loss. They were dealt a 74-12 loss at the hands of Vail Christian. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for West Grand in their matchups with Vail Christian: they've now lost six in a row.
West Grand got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of
Stran Lechman and
Jared Gonzales, who each put up four points.
Leading Vail Christian to victory were Will Neumann and Wyatt Fisher. Neumann scored 14 points, while Fisher scored 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Fisher has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jack Pryor, who scored ten points.
West Grand dropped their record down to 1-9 with that loss, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Vail Christian, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-5.
West Grand will head out on the road to take on Olathe at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Olathe is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Vail Christian, they will be playing at home against Clear Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Clear Creek is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
