The Lititz Christian Eagles pushed their score all the way to 63 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 73-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of York Country Day. Lititz Christian lost against the in their previous head to head back in February of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 64-16 score last time.
Despite the defeat, Lititz Christian saw an underclassman step up: Jack Kriebel scored 30 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kriebel has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Eddie Vega, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
York Country Day's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ryan Maus, who scored 20 points along with six assists and six steals. Maus has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more points the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah White, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds.
Lititz Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for York Country Day, their win was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-3.
Lititz Christian will play host again and welcome the , where tip off is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. on Monday. Varsity Opponent has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since February 2. As for York Country Day, they and the Monarch will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
