They really took it to Batesburg-Leesville for the full four quarters, racking up a 59-32 victory on the road. This was payback for Ridge Spring-Monetta, who suffered a 57-29 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Ridge Spring-Monetta found their leader in underclassman Taylah Leaphart, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 10 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordyn Gilliam, who scored 15 points along with 9 steals.
Ridge Spring-Monetta's victory bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Batesburg-Leesville, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
