Four Corners will stroll in with a seven game home winning streak (dating back to last season), but they should still watch out: the last time they lost at home was their December 13 matchup with Jordan Christian Prep.
Four Corners scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They took down Bell Creek Academy 63-45. The win was just what Four Corners needed coming off of a 49-20 loss in their prior matchup.
Four Corners got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Karina Cruz out in front who scored 18 points along with five steals. Danielys Pena Ponce was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
Meanwhile, Jordan Christian Prep can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent contest on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 65-17 victory over Auburndale on the road. Winning may never get old, but Jordan Christian Prep sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Jordan Christian Prep's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amelia Williams, who scored 25 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Williams has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Delissa Morris, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 steals.
Four Corners' win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Jordan Christian Prep, their win bumped their record up to 9-6.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Four Corners have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 37.4 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Jordan Christian Prep, though, as they've been averaging only 20.9 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Four Corners was dealt a bruising 44-12 loss at the hands of Jordan Christian Prep in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Four Corners was down 27-4.
