A feisty cat fight will be fought as Tomball Memorial Wildcats duke it out with Tomball Cougars at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Tomball Memorial sitting on four straight victories and Tomball on 14.

Lacey Matheson was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and six RBI. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Elena Moreno also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Tomball Memorial always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .586. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Tomball hadn't beaten Klein Oak on the road since April 12, 2022 but that history sure didn't bother them on Tuesday. The Cougars put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 13-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won 13 games by six runs or more so far this season.
Regina Amaya spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on three hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Hadlee Faulkner, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. Macey Frank was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.
Tomball pushed their record up to 20-3 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Tomball Memorial, their record is now 15-8-1.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Tomball Memorial hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .324. However, it's not like Tomball struggles in that department as they've averaged .376. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Tomball Memorial suffered a grim 12-3 defeat to Tomball in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
