The Cheyenne Wells Tigers will take on the Granada Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cheyenne Wells knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Granada likes a good challenge.
Cheyenne Wells is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Colorado's top teams: Eads, who was ranked 12th at the time (Cheyenne Wells was ranked eighth). The Tigers blew past the Eagles, posting a 60-18 victory. Considering the Tigers have won five contests by more than 35 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Cheyenne Wells didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Camden Rand and Trey Scheler. Scheler has been hot recently, having also posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last three times he's played.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Granada, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They walked away with a 45-36 win over Walsh on Friday. The Bobcats haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Cheyenne Wells better keep an eye on Sebastian Pizarro. He was instrumental in Granada's win, rushing for 359 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 18.0 yards per carry, and also picking up 52 receiving yards and one TD. Those five rushing touchdowns gave Pizarro a new career-high.
Granada was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 378 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Granada's defensive line and their five sacks. Syjier Freeman-Swindell was especially locked on to Walsh's QB and sacked him three times.
Cheyenne Wells' win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Granada, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Cheyenne Wells has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 248.7 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Granada struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 215.7 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for Cheyenne Wells against Granada when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 75-39 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Bobcats' Maddox Coleman, who threw for 233 yards and four touchdowns, and also rushed for 130 yards and one score on only nine carries. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be easier for the Tigers to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
