The Westwood Wolverines will challenge the Holliston Panthers at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Westwood is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.
If Westwood beats Holliston with 15 runs on Wednesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Wolverines' pitcher stepped up to hand Millis a 15-0 shutout on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Wolverines in their matchups with the Mohawks: they've now won four in a row.

Bridget Mulkeen made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Westwood got a massive performance out of Eve Clinton, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Izzy Walsh was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, one run, and one double.
Westwood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Millis only posted an OBP of .118.
Meanwhile, Holliston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ashland.
Like Westwood, Holliston also got a great game from a two-way player: Isabella Weidman. On the mound, she pitched four innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits. Those two earned runs gave Weidman a new career-low. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Weidman wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Caroline Harris, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another was Julia Galileau, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run.
Westwood's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-4. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Holliston, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-14.
Holliston's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Westwood has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.7 hits per game. It's a different story for Holliston, though, as they've been averaging 11.7 hits. Given Westwood's sizable advantage in that area, the Panthers will need to find a way to close that gap.
Westwood might still be hurting after the 11-2 loss they got from Holliston when the teams last played back in April. Will the Wolverines have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
