On Thursday, South Bend Career Academy might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Morgan Township an easy 68-42 win. While losing is never fun, South Bend Career Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 384th, while Morgan Township is ranked 150th).
Keagen Holder was his usual excellent self, scoring 33 points along with six steals for Morgan Township. The matchup was Holder's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Grieger, who scored six points along with six rebounds.
South Bend Career Academy's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-6. As for Morgan Township, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-2.
South Bend Career Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lakeland at 6:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024. Lakeland is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games. Morgan Township and Whiting will round out the year against one another at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday at. Whiting comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
