Foothill has gone a perfect 10-0 against Shasta recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Cougars will be playing at home against the Wolves at 5:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Foothill has four straight victories, Shasta has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
If Foothill beats Shasta with 12 runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Cougars never let Enterprise get on the board and left with a 12-0 win on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won five matches by nine runs or more so far this season.
Rylee Vakulich made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Malia Webb was a standout: she got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and three runs. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Taylor Bates was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and two runs.
Foothill was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Enterprise only posted a batting average of .167.
Meanwhile, Shasta suffered their closest defeat since April 16, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of Pleasant Valley by a score of 7-5.
Haley Salkeld and Sheala Buelna did some serious damage despite the final result: Salkeld scored two runs while going 2-for-4, while Buelna scored a run while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Salkeld, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Foothill pushed their record up to 11-3-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Shasta, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.
Everything went Foothill's way against Shasta in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Foothill made off with an 11-2 victory. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wolves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
