The John Glenn Little Muskies will head out on the road to challenge the Meadowbrook Colts at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully John Glenn is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Colts in Ohio (the Little Muskies are ranked 215th, while the Colts are ranked 783rd).
Last Friday, John Glenn was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 53-49 to the Generals. John Glenn has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, John Glenn saw an underclassman step up: Brayden Davis dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Briggs, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, Meadowbrook's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight defeat. They took a serious blow against Maysville, falling 82-31. Meadowbrook was down 73-25 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Despite their loss, Meadowbrook saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Colton Delancey, who scored seven points along with five rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Michael Ray was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
John Glenn's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Meadowbrook, their loss was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-14.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: John Glenn have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 25.1 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Meadowbrook struggles in that department as they've been averaging 22.7 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Everything came up roses for John Glenn against the Colts in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 as the squad secured a 72-33 victory. With John Glenn ahead 47-16 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
