Neoga is 0-3 against Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond since April of 2018 but things could change on Monday. The Indians will venture away from home to take on the Knights at 4:30 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
While Neoga's victory against North Clay/Clay City wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Indians won by a run and slipped past North Clay/Clay City 6-5. The win was some much needed relief for the Indians as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
Hannah Propst was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up five earned runs off nine hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Audrey Kepp was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Josalyn Brandenburg, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Neoga kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Rantoul 4-3. The victory continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won four in a row.
SOPHIA MONTS made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. MONTS was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.
MONTS wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was ANNA RAWLINS, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one RBI.
Neoga's record is now 5-14. As for Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond, their record now sits at 10-13.
Neoga suffered a grim 13-1 defeat to Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond in their previous meeting back in April of 2022. Can the Indians avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
