Basketball Recap: Berkeley Skates Past Goose Creek with Ease

Berkeley hadn't done well against Goose Creek recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Berkeley Stags claimed a resounding 56-28 victory over the Goose Creek Gators. The Stags have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 25 points or more this season.

Berkeley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Imani Levey, who went 6 of 9 en route to 15 points and five boards. That's the most points Levey has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Alaina Carter, who scored 14 points.

Berkeley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 16 offensive boards in four consecutive matches.

Several Gators players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Madeline Dates, who put up nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Celeste Griffin, who earned eight points.

Berkeley's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-4. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 23.1 points. As for Goose Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 10-8.

Berkeley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 41-32 victory against Wando on the 7th. As for Goose Creek, they have also already played their next contest, a 54-37 win against Lucy Beckham on the 7th.
