The Prairie Falcons are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will challenge the Mark Morris Monarchs at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Prairie is headed out to face Mark Morris after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. Prairie put the hurt on Hudson's Bay with a sharp 22-2 victory on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won seven in a row.
Payton Miller made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave her a new career-low. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Like Prairie, Mark Morris also got a great game from a two-way player: Shyanne Sellers. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. Sellers was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Mark Morris got a massive performance out of Mikaila Warfield, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. Another player making a difference was Megan Fugleberg, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Mark Morris was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .464. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in four consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
Prairie came out on top in a nail-biter against Mark Morris in their previous matchup back in April of 2022, sneaking past 4-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Prairie since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
