The Legion Preparatory Academy Bulldogs came tearing into Friday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 36 points) and they left with even more momentum. They enjoyed a cozy 88-72 win over Grind Prep. The victory was all the more spectacular given Legion Preparatory Academy's disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 49th in Texas, while Grind Prep is ranked third in Oklahoma).
Legion Preparatory Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rayna Williams, who scored 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Williams has scored all season. Mari Dangerfield was another key contributor, scoring 20 points.
Legion Preparatory Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. As for Grind Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 12-4.
