This season hasn't been kind to the Gordonsville Tigers, who are still winless after their sixth contest. They lost to Gulf Breeze on the road by a decisive 50-32 margin on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, Gordonsville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 349th in Tennessee, while Gulf Breeze is ranked 66th in Florida).
Gulf Breeze got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Madison Coughlin out in front who scored 13 points. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Piper Tieman, who scored nine points along with ten rebounds.
Gordonsville's defeat was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-6. As for Gulf Breeze, their win bumped their record up to 9-2.
