The DeSales Irish will challenge the Liberty Christian Patriots at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Liberty Christian will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: DeSales extended their winning streak to eight last Friday. Everything went the Irish's way against Colton as they made off with a 15-7 victory.

Abi Guest and Addison Mason were a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Guest didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Mason tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off two hits. Guest has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. At bat, Guest scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-5, while Mason scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5. Those three runs gave Mason a new career-high.
In other batting news, DeSales got a massive performance out of Roslyn Block, who scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Theresa Holtzinger, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
DeSales kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in five consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, while Liberty Christian put up some runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Sunnyside Christian. The Patriots blew past the Knights 10-0.
The team relied heavily on Megan Butcher, who fired off two home runs and three runs while going 2-for-3. Those home runs were her first of the season. Mady Getchell was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
DeSales' win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-1-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.2 runs over those games. As for Liberty Christian, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. DeSales has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Liberty Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
DeSales took their win against Liberty Christian in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 12-5 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Irish since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
