The Mt. Vernon Yellowjackets will head out on the road to challenge the Bexley Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Mt. Vernon is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.
On Thursday, Mt. Vernon came up short against Granville and fell 3-1. While the Yellowjackets didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Blue Aces 25-18 in the first set.
Mt. Vernon started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-21, 25-12, 25-17.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Callie Swanson, who had ten digs and four aces. She has been hot, having also posted 12 or more assists the last six times she's played. Addison Komitau was another key player, getting 15 assists and four digs.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Bexley duked it out with Grandview Heights on Thursday. The Lions were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Bobcats. The win continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Bobcats: they've now won four in a row.
Bexley's got stronger as the match went on, holding Grandview Heights to fewer and fewer points set over set. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-16, 25-12.
Bexley's victory bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Mt. Vernon, their loss dropped their record down to 4-11.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Monday's matchup: Mt. Vernon has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 8.7 aces per game.
