The Kim/Branson Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They fell 56-45 to Swink. Kim/Branson found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and post ten fewer assists than your opponent.
When it comes to explaining why Kim/Branson lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kolter Cranson. Despite the final result, he scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. That's the first time this season that Cranson scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brock Doherty, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
It was another big night for Hunter Bauserman, who scored 26 points along with nine rebounds for Swink. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Bauserman has scored at least 25% of Swink's points. Another player making a difference was Nick Paolucci, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Kim/Branson's defeat was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-5. As for Swink, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kim/Branson will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Primero at 1:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Swink will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Lamar at 5:30 p.m. on January 6, 2024.
