With a playoff win on the line, Canyon Hills rose to the challenge on Tuesday. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, they made off with a 58-57 victory over the Central Spartans. The Rattlers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Spartans, too.
Central lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was James Tovar, who went 6-for-10 on his way to 23 points and seven rebounds. That's the most points he has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Joap Soto Chavez, who went 5-for-9 to rack up 12 points and four steals.
Canyon Hills' win bumped their record up to 12-16. As for Central, their loss dropped their record down to 15-11.
Looking ahead, Canyon Hills is taking a road trip to challenge Maranatha Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
