Draughn waltzed into their matchup  on Tuesday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. They narrowly escaped with a  victory as the  squad sidled past the Madison Patriots  7-5. Seven seems to be a good number for the Wildcats as the  team scooped up a  win with the same number of  runs in their previous game.
 Tate Jensen made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he  struck out 11 batters over  five innings while giving up just one earned  (and two unearned) runs off   four  hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-4 with one  home run and five  RBI. Those  five  RBI gave  him a new career-high.
 Jensen wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Nolan Ballard, who  went 2-for-3 with one  stolen base and one  RBI. Another  was  Chase Yambor, who  scored two  runs while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances.
Draughn's victory was  their fourth straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 11-5. Those  road  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Madison, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record  this season.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Draughn will be taking part in a tournament against Enka  at 6:30  p.m.  on Thursday. The Jets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.21  runs per game on average), something the Wildcats will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Madison, they are taking a road trip to  square off against Rosman  at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday.
