Baytown Christian led TAPPS Six-Man Division I District 5 (6 Man) in scoring this week after putting up 59 points on Northeast Christian. Gavin Sabo threw for 42 yards and two touchdowns in the win.
Alpha Omega Academy's dynamic duo of Marco Pardo and Chris Shirley proved tough for Covenant Christian to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Pardo threw for 99 yards and three touchdowns and Shirley had 81 yards receiving. Dakota Reeves helped Alpha Omega Academy's passing attack out by catching one ball for 18 yards.
Blake Smith was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 134 yards on eight carries as the Bulldogs topped the Cougars.
Alpha Omega Academy's Pardo and Shirley have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Pardo has thrown for 619 yards this season, while Shirley has 18 catches for 409 yards. Smith from Baytown Christian leads the league in rushing with 389 yards.
A big matchup in TAPPS Six-Man Division I District 5 (6 Man) this week will be when First Baptist Christian takes on the Warriors. At the moment, the Warriors are in first, while Northeast Christian is in sixth.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when First Baptist Christian takes on Keith Coleman's team. Wayne Teutsch's team has allowed 172 points this season, while the Warriors have given up 210. The Warriors allowed 56 points last week as they fell to Logos Prep Academy.
The Lions made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 424 from 508. The advance stemmed from a 56-8 victory over First Baptist Christian last week.
