In what's become a running theme this season, the North Pitt Panthers gave their fans yet another huge victory on Wednesday. They blew past Perquimans, posting a 71-28 win at home. The win was familiar territory for North Pitt who now have 11 in a row.
North Pitt was led to victory by Jordan Speller and Zamareya Jones. Speller dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten assists, while Jones scored 32 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Speller has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 19 times she's played. Zihanna Lightfoot was another key contributor, scoring three points along with 13 rebounds.
North Pitt pushed their record up to 18-3 with that win, which was their 24th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 32 points. As for Perquimans, their loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-3.
North Pitt will head out on the road to take on Washington at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. North Pitt knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 11 games -- so hopefully Washington likes a good challenge. As for Perquimans, they will be playing at home against Tarboro at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Perquimans is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Tarboro in North Carolina (Perquimans is ranked 93rd, while Tarboro is ranked 508th).
