Boerne waltzed into their match on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They took down the Floresville Tigers/Jaguars 73-54. Given the Greyhounds' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 153rd, while the Tigers/Jaguars are ranked 548th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Several Tigers/Jaguars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Chloe Hernandez, who went 8 for 18 on her way to 21 points. Jordin Johns was another key player, putting up nine points along with seven assists and five boards.

Boerne's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-9. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.3 points per game. As for Floresville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-11 record this season.

Coincidentally, Boerne and Floresville will both be playing Katy Taylor the next time they take the court. Floresville will host Katy Taylor at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, while Boerne will play them later in the day, at 2:30 p.m.
