There's no place like home for The Creekside Knights, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They slipped by Fleming Island 49-48 on Friday. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Creekside got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Harrison Garrido out in front who rushed for 183 yards and two touchdowns. Garrido is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played. Kaleb Taylor-burch was another key contributor, picking up 239 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Creekside's victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 4-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.7 points per game. As for Fleming Island, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.
Creekside will head out on the road to face off against Atlantic Coast at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Atlantic Coast will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 200th, while Creekside is ranked 59th). As for Fleming Island, they will be playing at home against Buchholz at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Buchholz will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
