Basketball Recap: Ian Karren Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Pinon

Northland Prep Academy won the last time they faced Pinon and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Northland Prep Academy Spartans strolled past the Pinon Eagles with points to spare, taking the game 62-48. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Spartans.

Northland Prep Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ian Karren led the charge by going 9 of 20 on his way to 18 points and six rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Karren a new career-high in assists (four). Another player making a difference was Jack Beckstead, who posted ten points in addition to eight boards and three steals.

Northland Prep Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pinon only racked up eight assists.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aidan Bare, who had 21 points. Bare's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Harrison Crosby, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds.

Northland Prep Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points per game. As for Pinon, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 7-6.

Northland Prep Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 71-67 victory against Williams on the 9th. As for Pinon, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-47 win against Round Valley on the 11th.
