Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Viera Hawks walked away with it. They walked away with a 72-61 win over the Tigers on Thursday. The victory was nothing new for Viera as they're now sitting on three straight.
Martin County's loss came despite strong showings from Brandon Brazell and Ari Smith. Brazell scored 23 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks, while Smith scored 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Fischer, who scored four points along with five rebounds.
Viera's win bumped their record up to 14-10. As for Martin County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-17 record this season.
Viera didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 53-36 defeat vs. South Fork on the 10th. Martin County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
