The Springport Spartans stacked a sixth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 73-3 victory over Maple Valley. Springport's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Springport was led to victory by Brenna Crittenden and Maddux Locke. Crittenden scored 16 points along with seven steals, while Locke dropped a triple-double on 16 points, 11 assists, and 12 steals. Locke is absolutely dominating the point category: she's posted at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Hope Overweg, who scored seven points along with 15 rebounds.
Springport pushed their record up to 6-1 with that victory, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.3 points per game. As for Maple Valley, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Springport will take on Athens at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Maple Valley, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Quincy at 7:00 p.m. Quincy comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
