After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Middletown, The Fort Bragg Timberwolves were happy to have found some success on Friday. They walked away with a 32-20 victory over St. Helena. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Fort Bragg's 12-point performance the game before.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fort Bragg to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alex Nicholson , who rushed for 190 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.5 yards per carry, and also threw for 69 yards and a touchdown. Nicholson was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 57 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Beau Hebden, who rushed for 137 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries.
Despite the loss, St. Helena still got an impressive performance from Sam Beck, who rushed for 188 yards.
Fort Bragg's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for St. Helena, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season.
Fort Bragg will head out on the road to face off against Lower Lake at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lower Lake is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak. As for St. Helena, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Kelseyville at 7:30 p.m. Kelseyville and St. Helena are at an even 4-4 over their past eight head-to-heads.
