4A District 4 recap Nov. 7, 2012
South Sumter extended the longest winning streak in 4A District 4 this week by beating Umatilla, 49-13. The victory was the 10th in a row for the team.
Weeki Wachee took down Duval Charter 58-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Marcus Allen threw for 190 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 44 yards in the win.
Jacob Cimino was the best wideout in the league this week as the Hornets bested the Panthers. Cimino racked up three receptions for 100 yards. Jonathan King helped Weeki Wachee's passing attack out by catching one ball for 54 yards.
Alex Gonzales was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 32 carries, he ran for 96 yards as Keystone Heights beat Duval Charter. Teammate Sam Anderson added to the ground attack by rushing for seven yards.
Mount Dora's Bobby LaRouca and Von Davis have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading 4A District 4 in both passing and receiving yards. LaRouca has thrown for 1590 yards this season, while Davis, a 5-foot-10 receiver, has 21 catches for 495 yards. Gonzales from the Indians leads the league in rushing with 1009 yards.
The Hurricanes made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 2,496 from 2,667. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 23-14 victory over Keystone Heights last week.
